GTBank maybe planning the biggest Africa’s fashion Bootcamp in the next months following the successful first edition last year, the Sketch2Fame competition for aspiring fashion designers across the Africa continent is set to return this year for its second edition.
The Sketch2Fame competition is the major highlight of the fashion event and last year’s edition saw the emergence of Charles Egbejule, the talented fashion designer came top among his competitors after impressing a panel of renowned fashion experts that included fashion celebrity photographer, TY. Bello, fashion designer, Julien Macdonald, fashion retailer and stylist, Ezinne Chinaka, and fashion illustrator and designer, Giles Deacon.
Much is expected from the fashion event this year and more fashion enthusiasts are expected to join the train and could also be part of the facilitators at the boot camp.
The structure of the fashion boot camp would include a selection of upcoming fashion designers from across the Africa continent in the 3 days nonstop fashion activities which will include educational sessions such as masterclass and hands-on training on the craft and business of sketching in the fashion and design world.
After these sessions, the participants will enter their design sketches into the Sketch to Fame Competition, then it will be time for the panel of judges and fashion experts to choose 3 winning designs to be further developed and showcased at the GTBank Fashion Weekend.
Nothing official is publicly announced from the team at GTBank yet but we presumed the event may likely hold sometime in November 2019 and entries for interested contesters for the Sketch2Fame boot camp may be in a couple of weeks. Just keep your ears to the ground, guys.
