Popular literary critic, Ikhede Ikheloa also known as Pa Ikhede has criticized Africans who still in the Bible and the white man’s God.
Pa Ikhede called the Bible a great work of fiction and a tool of oppression created by feuding brothers to oppress women, children and the vulnerable.
He took to his Facebook timeline to write:
Unpopular opinion: The bible is a great work of fiction, a tool of oppression created by feuding brothers to oppress women, children and the vulnerable. It is homophobic and racist and to the extent that white slave hunters prayed over captured warriors from West Africa with the bible before they were shipped off to be slaves, it boggles my mind that an African would look at that bible and not hiss in disgust. Their God looked away during the middle passage as millions of Africans perished during the slave trade. We had our own religion before the coming of the white man. What is wrong with us? We are our own slaves. Onugo of my people lives in me.
Open your eyes. Nonsense.
Pa Ikhede is also known for his high level of opinions of every matter to the point of distraction and doesn’t apologize for it.
He once threw a proverb at the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the vice president,Laolu Akande, after he tweeted about vice president Yemi Osibanjo who was attending the graduation ceremony of his son in the UK.
Laolu Akande wrote: “VP Osinbajo is in the UK attending his son’s graduation today. He returns to Abuja tomorrow”
And Ikhede Ikheloa replied to the tweet with:“If a university professor does not have confidence in the education in Nigerian Universities …why should anyone else? If a restaurant operator/cook often/regularly eats his lunch in another restaurant, Should you have confidence in his cooking/cuisine?”
