One of the New Generation Nigerian Politicians, Eunice Atuejide under one of the newly created parties, National Interest Party (NIP) took to her Instagram page some weeks ago to categorically state why the coalition among other presidential candidates cannot work since some of these guys are out there for their personal interests and not for the interest of the Nigerians as they so claimed.
With the 2019 election barely three weeks away the stakes are getting higher and last minutes details are carefully being played out by the candidates of the interested registered parties. While the seating president Muhammadu Buhari under the ruling party All Progressives’ Congress (APC) and former vice president Atiku Abubakar under People Democracy Party (PDP) are still the most popular among the 36 legitimate presidential candidates for the 2019 generational election, the new guys have attempted a coalition to form a better alliance and stronger force to outbeat the big elephants in the arena but Mrs. Eunice Atuejide has written a long length concerns why the coalition would not be possible.
Read her reason below:
“You see ehn, I do believe Fela Durotoye @feladurotoye means it EVERY time he says he is ready to give up his race for the Presidency, if all the alternative candidates could come TOGETHER and pick one person to lead the pack.
I also believe that unlike Prof. Kingsley Moghalu @moghalukingsley, that Fela would end his race in support of the winner like @thomaswilsonikubese did should the decision be that he couldn’t lead the pack. Although, I guarantee he would think up and apply absolutely EVERY legal trick possible to ensure he is chosen🤗. This is OK if you ask me!
Problem is, I have dealt one on one with all these guys over time including – Omoyele Sowore @yelesho, Kingsley Moghalu @moghalukingsley, Alistair Soyode @alisoyode, Tope Fasua @tfasua, Adesina Bryon @sina.fagbenrobyron, Oby Ezekwesili @obyezeks, Ahmed Buhari @officialahmedb, Mathias Tsado@mtsadoetc.
And like I have always told all who cared to listen, these guys will not come together!
IT WILL NOT HAPPEN!
Certainly not in 2019 – it may not even happen for 2023 as 90% don’t care about democracy, Nigeria, or Nigerians!
Truth is, far too many came into this race for personal ambitions and selfish interests. And you may not have noticed, but they’re mostly older men and women in their late 40s to late 50s, so they are working on the premise that time is against them – which is probably true!
So, Mr. Fela Durotoye and all of you still crying for a coalition of ALTERNATIVE CANDIDATES, biko STOP WASTING YOUR TIME and ENERGY. These guys are not interested, and with the elections only 3 weeks away – IT IS TOO LATE!
Complete your race if you must!
Learn your lessons, and let’s reunite after May 2019 and chart the course for 2023 and beyond – assuming you’re all still interested by then.
I’m DEFINITELY here to stay! Doesn’t matter how painful the experiences, or difficult the terrain.
I will not run away because someone MUST do this work.
My strategy is to form/join coalitions with ALL serious minded opposition leaders to at least ensure Buhari is not returned at the polls next month.
So, the highest priority for me right now is #BuhariMustGo!
Everything else is a PLUS!
Thanks & God bless!”
