Michael Jackson was pronounced dead on the 25th June 2009 at his rented mansion at 100 North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills district of Los Angeles after being administered prescription drugs.
He became hooked on the drugs after suffering a second-degree burn in a 1984 accident and later died in 2009 of intoxication from the prescription drugs.
Attempts at resuscitating him by Conrad Murray, his personal physician, were unsuccessful.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics received a 911 call at 12:22(PDT, 19:22 UTC), arriving three minutes later at Jackson’s location.
He was reportedly not breathing and CPR was performed. Resuscitation efforts continued en route to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and for more than an hour after arriving there at 1:13 (20:13 UTC).
He was pronounced dead at 2:26 local time (21:26 UTC).
His personal physician, Conrad Murray, was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter for having administered anesthetic drugs without being qualified to do so.
His untimely death still remains a mystery to date.
But today, lifelong fans of the entertainer of all are putting all activities aside to give honor to the man who has healed the world with his inspirational music.
This has become a culture celebrated annually since the death of the icon.
