Charles Oputa also known as Charly Boy as his musical stage name, also known as Area Fada as the leader of all okada riders in Lagos state took to his Instagram page a few days ago to post three photos, each with a caption that illustrate the cry of every Nigerian but the first post was a poem dedicating it to the incompetency of the Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC).
Read the poem below;
“Somebody, please tell me.
Why do we need to waste our time to vote when INEC is not independent?
Why do we need to vote when we are killed or terrorized for voting our choice.
Why has God abandoned his people?
Pastors how far? Maybe na dis next level go wake Mumu Naija’s up.”
Charles Oputa aka Charly boy, who is the founder of Our Mumu Don Do movement has been in the frontline of many protests calling out the Nigeria government for better governance and the improvement of infrastructures in the country. In his second Instagram post, he was his accusing fingers on those who go around marginalizing the Igbos, Niger Deltans and the Middle belters. This is not the first time he is composing such a poem.
“I am no tribalist so chill.
But fire burn all those who go around threatening, terrorizing and psychologically scaring Igbos, niger deltans and middle belters from coming out in large numbers to exercise their democratically guaranteed franchise in any part of the country in this electoral circle.
Una no go die better.
Aside from the dramatic poem and captions, we also noticed the elements in the photos the Area fada uploaded where there was a Nigerian flag and the dripping of liquid substance that symbolizes blood, also the hands covering his eyes in the second post. I believe Charly boy was trying to pass a message with these photos, even though the poem tells it all but the photos went deeper in the telling.
