“The 2019 general elections just experienced its first political casualty today in Kogi state where a student of Kogi state University student known as Daniel Usman was killed by political thugs earlier today at a polling unit in his locality, Anyigba, Kogi state. Daniel was killed while he was trying to vote.
Barely 15 hours ago, Mr. Daniel was enthusiastic about today’s election and took to his Facebook timeline to post how every Nigerian should come and vote in peace, he preached against election violence but he never knew he was going to be a victim, it was his last post before he was brutally killed by some political thugs.
His friends have taken to their Facebook pages to mourn him. One of his knowns on Facebook as Ojo Nu Gwa posted this on his timeline:
“THERE HAVE KILLED MY FRIEND😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Anybody having hand in your death will never go free except there is no GOD😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

The untimely death of young Daniel Usman is an unfortunate and the 2019 general elections has taken off earlier with such peace and tranquility but an event such as this is sad when lives are lost in what’s generally considered to be the demonstration of civic right.
