In an era where foreign cultures are crawling slowly to obliterate African traditions, emerges in the horizon the Chieftaincy title of Ajiga Osoho as the new Osarigede of Keana.
Mr. Osoho is an Alago music producer and songwriter whose consistency in the promotion of his indigenous culture has earned him the emblem of OSARIGEDE OF KEANA, loosely translated as the Head of The Royal Trumpet.
HRH Abdullahi Omadefu Amegwa Agbo iii, the new Osana of Keana in his royal power, bestowed the traditional title that befits the character of the man whose love and originality of Alago culture will reverberate into the generations to come.
The sacrosanct occasion took place in the Osana’s palace in Keana, area of Nasarawa State on the 12th August of 2019 where the royal councils presided over the ceremony in the presence of the entire town.
Adorned in the Alago traditional attire, opah and the royal trumpet in his hand, Ajiga Alose Osoho with his boyish smile and almost six-foot height rises gallantly to be the new member of the Ajigwo musical band of Keana as their head.
This will be the second time in the history of the Osoho bloodline where this prestigious title will come to the family.
His father, Osoho Alaga Agbo held the Osofafatitle during his life till his death and was praised for his dedication to that position.
It was an event that marked another history in the calendar of the Keana people as the parade of over 20 eligible sons of the land were robed today with new chieftaincy titles.
Keanians watched with awe and pride as their own were newly ordained by the Osana of Keana into many titles and positions that will aid the progress of the land.
Osana Amegwa Agbo iii, when officiating Ajiga Osoho as the new head of the royal trumpet, commended his many contributions to the culture of the land and assigned him the reestablishment of the Oyarore festival.
The Alago people of Keana are chiefly known for their salt lake and Oyarore festival, the traditional event that occurs annually.
Ajiga Osoho, a member of the Oyarore festival committee, when speaking to Nasarawa Broadcasting Services during the royal event, promises to bring modifications that will improve the present condition of things.
The new Osarigede of Keana was later escorted home by friends and family, first, to his father compound in Obene ward to pay homage to the elders of his clan.
